Role Overview: As the Senior Actuarial Manager for Pricing, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering comprehensive actuarial insights across various financial reporting standards. Your role will involve managing the inherent risks of the business with precision and timeliness, while also anticipating stakeholder needs and proposing effective solutions to business challenges. You will spearhead initiatives to enhance team efficiency and support the company's objectives in health business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative financial strategies and pricing mechanisms; conduct thorough analyses for product approvals and feasibility assessments throughout the product development lifecycle. Monitor profitability and sustainability while performing risk and financial evaluations.
- Collaborate with local management, regional offices, distribution channels, and internal departments on various product development initiatives to ensure alignment with company objectives; revamp existing product strategies and ensure compliance with approval processes.
- Oversee team members, providing continuous coaching on actuarial principles, product knowledge, and insurance practices. Encourage a culture of questioning the status quo and driving improvements to enhance team productivity.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal governance in the product and pricing processes; evaluate the implications of changes in reporting standards, modeling assumptions, and investment strategies, securing necessary approvals from relevant parties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.
- Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries or an equivalent designation.
- A minimum of 9 years of actuarial experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Preferred experience in product management.
- Experience in pricing or developing health protection products (e.g., medical reimbursement coverage) is advantageous.
- Strong negotiation skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and solid business and financial insight. Proficient in presentation skills with excellent spoken and written English; proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is a plus.
- In-depth actuarial knowledge and a solid understanding of local regulations regarding life insurance products. Familiarity with various reporting standards is beneficial.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and collaborate across multiple business functions.
- Demonstrated people management and leadership skills.
