Job Title: Resident Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resident Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Hospital Authority.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients/clients, including assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients/clients to identify their occupational therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment programs to help patients/clients achieve their goals and improve their functional abilities.
  • Document patient/client progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients/clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
Requirements:
  • A BSc / BSc (Hons) Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registration as an Occupational Therapist of the Register of the Occupational Therapists under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance and a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Occupational Therapists Board, Hong Kong.
Preferred Attributes/Exposure:
  • Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and commitment to patient care.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills.
Remarks:

For Serving HA staff: The selected candidate will be offered either contract or fixed-term appointment for a period of 1-3 years depending on his/her existing employment terms. Serving permanent employee will be offered a fixed-term appointment after which the employee may be reverted back to his/her former substantive rank. Serving contract employee will be offered contract employment with an up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.

For External applicants: Appointment will be on contract terms for a period of 1-3 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.

For All applicants: Applicants who are expected to graduate from the BSc / BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent on or before 31 March 2024 and be able to be registered as an Occupational Therapist of the Register of the Occupational Therapists under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance and have a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Occupational Therapists Board, Hong Kong on or before 31 March 2024 may also apply. If selected, their appointment will be subject to their having satisfied all the appointment requirements.

Please attach all clinical placement results and final year transcript in the online application. For graduates whose final year transcripts are not available, please attach school examination results of all school years currently available for reference.

Appointed candidates may be required to work shifts and irregular hours as well as to perform on-call duties.

Selected applicants will be subject to central posting and may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
