Business Function Overview

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited's Corporate and Investment Banking division provides comprehensive commercial banking services to corporate customers, including cash management, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans, and foreign exchange. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end Know Your Customer (KYC) and account opening services for large corporate and financial institutional group customers.
  • Manage portfolios of assigned new account applications, achieving new client acquisition targets with reasonable turnaround times.
  • Supervise KYC Officers in contacting prospect corporate customers to conduct KYC and arrange account opening and relevant matters.
  • Understand business activities and obtain business proof to ascertain legitimacy and consistency with declared activities.
  • Identify and escalate cases with potential red flags on possible fraudulent applications.
  • Approve or endorse recommendations for approval by Team Heads.
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding documents in a proactive manner, minimizing turnaround times.
  • Manage KYC officer portfolios to achieve new account application targets on a week-to-week basis, enabling business for new customer acquisition.
  • Supervise and own the progress and quality of KYC and account opening for KYC officers, providing guidance and instruction for timely completion of new account applications.
  • Motivate and drive teams to maintain account quality.
  • Conduct knowledge sharing and coaching with new members and the team as necessary.
  • Liaise and work with internal departments, RMs, and CSOs to facilitate smooth delivery of customer service and accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Participate in the rollout of business initiatives and transformation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory banking processes.
Requirements
  • University degree with 7+ years of experience in the banking industry, with related KYC exposure and people management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of AML/KYC, compliance, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in transaction review/investigation and compliance risk controls from an AML perspective is an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Attentive to details, compliance and control-oriented, diligent, and proactive, with a growth mindset.
  • Good product and process knowledge. Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Excel.
  • Good multi-tasking skills and ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in both English and Cantonese. Mandarin is highly preferred.
