The Shenendehowa Central School District is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 8 hours a day, 12 months a year. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, dust and polish furniture, sweep, mop, wash, wax and vacuum floors.
  • Perform routine painting tasks, both interior and exterior of the building.
  • Maintain sidewalks, leaf removal in fall, ice and snow removal in winter, receive and store supplies.
  • Arrange chairs, tables and equipment for special events, wash windows, walls and woodwork, replace light bulbs, make minor repairs and operate floor machinery.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent diploma (GED) and experience in building cleaning.
  • Good working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work with students, parents, colleagues and administration.
