Role Overview: As the Senior Actuarial Manager for Pricing, you will guide your team in delivering comprehensive actuarial assessments across various financial reporting frameworks. Your role will involve managing the inherent risks of the business while ensuring timely and high-quality outputs. You will proactively identify the needs of key stakeholders and propose effective solutions to business challenges. Additionally, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing team efficiency and support the company’s aspirations in health business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative financial strategies and pricing mechanisms; conduct thorough analyses for product approvals and feasibility assessments throughout the product development lifecycle. Monitor profitability and sustainability while performing risk and financial evaluations.
  • Collaborate with local management, regional offices, distribution networks, and other internal departments on product development projects to ensure alignment with corporate initiatives; revitalize existing product strategies and guarantee that approval processes meet production and channel requirements; provide analytical insights and solutions to the management team.
  • Oversee team members, offering continuous coaching on actuarial, product, and insurance knowledge. Encourage staff development and challenge existing processes to enhance team productivity.
  • Ensure compliance of product and pricing processes with regulatory standards and internal governance; evaluate the impact of any changes in reporting frameworks, modeling assumptions, and investment strategies, securing necessary approvals from relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.
  • Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries or an equivalent professional designation.
  • A minimum of 9 years of actuarial experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Experience in product management is preferred.
  • Background in pricing or developing health protection products (e.g., medical reimbursement coverage) is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation skills complemented by excellent analytical capabilities and solid business acumen. Proficiency in presentation skills with a strong command of both spoken and written English; proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is preferred.
  • In-depth actuarial knowledge with a solid understanding of local regulations governing life insurance products. Familiarity with various reporting standards is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and navigate multiple business functions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
