HSBC is seeking a seasoned Underwriting Manager to lead our High Net Worth and Individual Life Business team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for implementing our underwriting policy and principles, ensuring that business is accepted on a sound and lasting profitable basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain underwriting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and HSBC's risk management framework.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, product managers, and sales teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor and analyze underwriting performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize underwriting outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement underwriting strategies and initiatives that align with business objectives.
- Ensure that all underwriting activities are conducted in accordance with HSBC's underwriting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in life insurance underwriting, with a strong background in high net worth and individual life business.
- Proven track record of successfully managing underwriting teams and implementing underwriting strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as LOMA, ALU, ALUCA, or CII.
