Actuarial Internship Programme

This is a unique 6-month internship opportunity to expose you to different functions and sections within the Actuarial Department of AIA Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities:
Actuarial Department - Product Development
- Main function of the product team is to develop new products, review existing product performance, and actual operational experience.
- Perform data analysis and generate product financials through the use of spreadsheet and/or Prophet models.
- Perform IT system checks related to product administration.
- Prepare data and calculation for experience/claim monitoring.
Actuarial Department - Reporting
- Integrated Reporting Team is responsible for providing shareholder reporting, regulatory reporting, business projections & forecast, and projects & initiatives.
- The Department is further divided into different sections for different valuation basis, used for internal management and external disclosure purposes.
- Perform calculation and data extraction for financial reports to assist regular reporting.
- Verify calculation in financial models under different reporting basis.
- Perform analysis and explanation of results.
- Handle ad-hoc projects and other duties as required.
Capital Management Department
- The team performs different risk-based analyses to support business strategies' formulation from a capital perspective.
- Perform calculation, data extraction, and checking for stress capital/economic capital reporting using Prophet models.
- Perform control and checking on Prophet models to ensure result consistency and quality.
Capital Planning & Optimisation
- The team performs various stochastic analyses to support the formulation of financial strategies from a capital perspective.
- Perform sensitivity runs on capital positions under economic basis through the use of spreadsheets to understand key risk drivers on capital.
- Support testing of various financial strategies and analysing implications on capital position of the company.
Job Requirements:
- University students majoring in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Insurance, or Finance with a strong mathematics background.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of Prophet, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), or other computer programming language is an advantage.
