Cultural Venue Manager Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join our team as a Cultural Venue Manager Assistant. As part of our operations team, you will assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring a seamless visitor experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Manager in leading the team to achieve M+ standards and KPIs, under compliance with institution safety guidelines.
  • Coordinating day-to-day operations, maintaining all venues and event flows for managing designated venue, and supporting the operations of Information Desk, cloak room, galleries, and lobby area.
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures for frontline operations, including safety, cleanliness, screening, event support, general housekeeping, etc.
  • Collaborating with parties on regular and special programmes, events, and performances; reviewing and executing venue hire requests.
  • Working closely with other front-line teams to ensure seamless visitor experiences, resolving emergency incidents or situations following protocols.
  • Supporting curator teams and the Marketing Department on marketing plans to drive box office sales.
  • Providing regular reports for management review, including budget management.
  • Carrying out ad hoc duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A recognised university degree in business management, marketing, hospitality management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality sector or other relevant industry.
  • Proven experience in front-of-house or customer-facing operations, preferably in sizable venues, cinema, or theatre operations.
  • Excellent organisational, team-building, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • A customer-centric mindset with strong relationship management skills, able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and messages.
  • Good team player, results-driven, and adaptable to change.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual workflows, equipment, technology, systems, and software related to screening, event, or venue management.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to the assigned duty roster.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Chinese.
