This position entails overseeing the evaluation of financial performance across a specific business unit or segment within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing effective financial frameworks to manage a health insurance operation.
  • Collaborating with Local Business Unit Finance Teams to facilitate the efficient gathering and reporting of health-related financial data.
  • Monitoring and interpreting financial data to evaluate the fiscal health of the business unit.
  • Creating and implementing financial performance indicators and metrics to measure essential financial outcomes.
  • Conducting thorough financial analyses to uncover trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement.
  • Preparing comprehensive financial reports for senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Engaging in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities to align with financial objectives.
  • Supporting local Activity-Based Costing (ABC) initiatives to ensure precise expense allocations.
  • Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and internal control policies.
  • Identifying financial performance risks and opportunities, and formulating strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
  • Fostering a shared understanding of the critical factors influencing the profitability of the health insurance portfolio, aiding the business in balancing growth with long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in financial management within the health insurance sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, performance monitoring, and reporting in a corporate or financial services context.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in financial modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units (Excel, SAP, Tableau).
