About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandising Specialist to join our team at Li & Fung. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery
  • Assist in the product development process to ensure products meet customer quality and budget requirements
  • Maintain strong business relationships with vendors for product development and production
  • Arrange sample submissions to customers for approval
  • Handle merchandising-related documents
  • Draft sample instructions, check sample yarn and dimension
  • Negotiate price and timeline, prepare cost sheets and T&A
  • Cooperate with the design team in product development and provide information about yarn, accessories, and production situations
  • Update market situations with the design team
  • Manage development and orders, follow up on production and delivery time frames
  • Negotiate prices, source suppliers to meet requirements, and advance cost effectiveness
  • Communicate and prepare meetings with suppliers/buyers for USA customers
  • Manage the sourcing business of US-based customers
  • Understand customer needs and requirements, develop an effective sourcing strategy
  • Ensure shipping and sampling shelves are stocked at all times
  • Distribute completed sample requests to the appropriate managers

Requirements

  • Experience in the US market
  • Diploma or above in merchandising or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
  • Strong product and material knowledge with good development skills, and familiar with merchandising and product development processes
  • Able to work under pressure, result-oriented, excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive, and detail-minded
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the team, communicate effectively with internal and external parties
  • Well-organized individual, able to manage multiple tasks, strong problem-solving skills, able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Literate in Microsoft Office programs
  • Occasional travel required
