Job Description:
  • We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity and Power Systems Specialist to join our team at CLP. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining control computer systems in our System Control Centre and Backup System Control Centre.

This role requires expertise in software & data maintenance, control computer systems implementation, testing, administration, and maintenance. You will work closely with our Lead Engineer – Process Control to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations of our power systems.

Your major duties will include:

  1. Directing and performing daily operations of the control computer systems, including Advanced Distribution Management System, Emergency Backup System, and Energy Management System, to ensure reliable and high availability services.
  2. Ensuring process control system projects are commissioned on time and to the required standard through proper project planning and scheduling, coordination, progress monitoring, and supervising system installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  3. Formulating engineering guidelines and standards and ensuring proper engineering practices are followed for the maintenance of control computer systems, including bug fixes, enhancements of existing software, and development of new applications.
  4. Directing and performing the implementation and maintenance of power system network models, real-time and historical databases among control computer systems.
  5. Implementing Information Security control measures on control computer systems, which includes Firewall, Anti-virus, vulnerability scanning, and security software setup and maintenance.
  6. Conducting periodic review and enforcing Information Security control measures on control computer systems.
  7. Responsible for Windows & Linux Server environment and network infrastructure setup, management, and monitoring, which includes Active Directory service, Database, Virtual server, Backup, etc.
  8. Supervising and monitoring the installation and commissioning of systems and telemetry facilities to comply with IT / OT standards.
  9. Providing project management support to control computer systems projects.
  10. Providing support to the continual improvements of processes in the Integrated Management System.
  11. Supervising and training up junior engineers.
  12. Performing any other duties, including standby duties, as assigned by supervisor when required.
Requirements:
  • A recognized university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering discipline, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' relevant working experience in software engineering of IT / OT systems, or other relevant software works.
  • Professional credentials in system administration, operational technology & cybersecurity (e.g., Microsoft certifications, CISSP, CISA, etc.) would be preferable.
  • Solid experience on Windows & Linux servers, MS SQL & Oracle database, VMware ESXi, network switch implementation, setup, or maintenance.
  • Proficient in computer system design, implementation, testing, administration, and maintenance.
  • Proficient in computer programming skills (PowerShell, Linux shell script, C#, Visual Basic, C++, VB.NET, Python).
  • Knowledge of power system operations and protection schemes would be an advantage.
  • Good communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Mindful and possess good safety awareness.
