Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative professional with a strong background in manufacturing methodologies, lean principles, and process optimization to enhance operational excellence within the manufacturing engineering domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver essential insights and facilitate the execution of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design to Value (DtV) assessments for new product initiatives.
- Assist suppliers in conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to establish effective occurrence and detection controls within processes.
- Identify and implement enhancements in processes from initial product conception through to the production ramp-up of new offerings.
- Assess and promote quality improvements, cycle time reduction, and process automation utilizing lean manufacturing and value engineering strategies for existing production lines.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities and drive enhancements to ensure alignment with product specifications and requirements.
- Investigate and adopt alternative technologies to improve process efficiency and minimize manufacturing costs.
- Document lessons learned and best practices, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders to ensure robust design and processes for future projects.
- Support suppliers in modernizing their operations through Industry 4.0 applications and machine learning techniques.
Experience Requirements:
- 10 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with substantial exposure to shop floor operations and lean manufacturing methodologies.
Technical Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with experience in the toy or consumer durable sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, process automation techniques, material flow design, line balancing, and control plans.
- Proficient in Value Analysis and Value Engineering techniques aimed at driving cost optimization initiatives.
- Experience with Method Time Measurement (MTM) techniques.
- Familiarity with products involving spray and tempo decorations, as well as plastic blister packaging.
- Skilled in designing and implementing assembly jigs, fixtures, and line tooling, with the ability to perform basic GD&T and stack-up analysis.
- Experienced in setting up production assembly lines, including Sonic Welding, High Frequency Welding, Screwing, Heat Staking, Riveting, and Adhesive Dispensing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Basic knowledge of Minitab for statistical analysis.
