A Public Relations Consultant is an adept and versatile project and account manager responsible for overseeing a diverse array of assignments, projects, and clients with exceptional proficiency and autonomy. This role requires the establishment of robust client relationships and the embodiment of leadership within the organization.

The Consultant possesses extensive professional knowledge and skills, capable of managing segments of large accounts or multiple smaller accounts with minimal oversight from senior management. Essential skills include project management, budgeting, strategic counseling, team leadership, and business development, with a strong focus on cultivating business and nurturing talent. The Consultant is trusted by clients and maintains solid connections within client organizations. As a leader within the firm, the Consultant demonstrates the capability to fulfill the company's vision, performance expectations, and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Account Oversight

Designs and oversees projects/programs, including execution plans, evaluation frameworks, staffing strategies, budgets, and timelines.Independently manages several smaller accounts or significant projects within a larger account, directing daily operations with appropriate support from senior personnel.Acts as the primary client liaison for the entire account, ensuring the growth of agency contacts over time.Creates presentations for clients regarding project management and program status.Ensures that team members are well-informed and engaged in projects.Proactively identifies and resolves emerging account challenges.Guides the team in articulating and applying the agency's vision, objectives, practice areas, and capabilities.

Professional Expertise

Possesses a broad and diverse range of account experience that informs public relations strategies.Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of public relations with a proven track record of achieving objectives.Responsible for the overall development of programs based on team contributions.Leads the creation of various materials produced by the account team, including client communications, press releases, speeches, articles, brochures, presentations, and collateral.Effectively plans and manages large-scale events.Develops and directs media relations strategies.Assists the team in leveraging knowledge of the creative process, graphic and video production, as well as IT and emerging media.Has established a network of industry contacts, including editorial, investment community, professional, and consumer groups.Exhibits strong presentation skills and the ability to take a leadership role in diverse presentation environments.Anticipates and formulates solutions to client needs and challenges.

Financial and Administrative Duties

Creates precise project budgets and monitors them effectively.Oversees the timely development and distribution of invoices and activity reports.Completes timesheets consistently and adheres to company policies and procedures.Contributes to forecasting and projections as required by senior management.Aims to meet billability targets set for the account director role.

Business Development Initiatives

Leads efforts to expand existing accounts.Identifies and seeks opportunities for new business development within and across company divisions and practice areas.Delivers insightful analyses, strategies, and concepts for new program development.Presents and discusses the firm's capabilities, ensuring team understanding of this domain.Familiarity with New Business Guidebook and relevant databases is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or related fields.5-8 years of relevant professional experience.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.Exceptional English and Chinese writing and communication skills.Strong presentation and strategic planning abilities.Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.Curiosity and enthusiasm for developing skills and networks within the public relations sector.
