A Public Relations Consultant is an adept and versatile project and account manager responsible for overseeing a diverse array of assignments, projects, and clients with exceptional success and autonomy. This role requires the ability to cultivate strong client relationships and serve as a leader within the organization.

The Consultant must exhibit advanced professional knowledge and skills, capable of managing segments of large accounts or multiple smaller accounts with minimal oversight from senior management. Essential skills include project management, budgeting, advisory capabilities, program development, personnel management, and business growth, with a focus on fostering business and talent. The Consultant should maintain the confidence of client contacts and establish robust relationships within the client organization. As a leader within the firm, the Consultant demonstrates the capacity to fulfill our vision, performance expectations, and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Account Oversight

Designs and oversees projects/programs, including execution plans, evaluation strategies, staffing frameworks, budgets, and timelines.Independently manages several smaller accounts or significant projects within a large account, directing daily operations with appropriate support from senior staff.Acts as the primary client liaison for the entire account, ensuring that agency contacts develop over time.Creates presentations for clients regarding project management and program status.Ensures that team members are well-informed and engaged in projects.Proactively identifies and leads the resolution of emerging account challenges.Ensures that the team can articulate and implement the agency's vision, objectives, practice areas, and capabilities.

Professional Expertise

Possesses a broad and diverse range of account experience that informs public relations strategies.Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of public relations with a proven track record of achieving objectives.Responsible for the overall development of programs based on team contributions.Oversees the creation of various materials produced by the account team, including client communications, press releases, speeches, articles, brochures, presentations, and collateral materials.Effectively plans and manages large-scale events.Develops and directs media relations strategies.Guides the team in applying knowledge of the creative process, graphic and video production, as well as information technology and emerging media.Maintains a network of industry editorial, investment community, professional, and consumer group contacts.Exhibits strong presentation skills and the ability to lead in various presentation contexts.Anticipates and formulates solutions to client needs and challenges.

Financial and Administrative Duties

Creates precise project budgets and monitors them effectively.Oversees the timely creation and distribution of invoices and activity reports.Completes timesheets consistently and adheres to company policies and procedures.Contributes to forecasting and projections as required by senior management.Aims to meet billability targets established for the position.

Business Development Initiatives

Leads efforts to expand existing accounts.Identifies and pursues opportunities for new business development across company offices and practice areas.Delivers insightful analyses, strategies, and concepts for new program development.Presents and discusses firm capabilities, ensuring team understanding of relevant cases, products, and services.Familiarity with New Business Guidebook and databases is essential.

Qualifications

Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or related fields.5-8 years of relevant professional experience.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Chinese.Strong presentation and strategic planning abilities.Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.Curiosity and enthusiasm for developing skills and networks within the public relations sector.
