Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Manager to join our team at the City University of Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, security, and access control of our enterprise database, as well as providing application support and resolving problems related to the database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain the university's enterprise database to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Provide application support and resolve problems related to the database, including troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Develop and maintain an application infrastructure for system development and operation in the department.
  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement new database systems and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with database security and access control policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, with at least 5 years' relevant post-qualification working experience.
  • Strong experience in Oracle database administration and development, with expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner and Exadata is highly preferred.
