Senior Associate, Asia Operations

Wayfair is revolutionizing the way goods are moved around the globe, and our Asia Operations team is at the forefront of this effort. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in creating a truly differentiated and vertically integrated supply chain. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and high-visibility initiative that requires leaders who can disrupt the status quo and redefine an industry.

The CastleGate Forwarding team in Asia is seeking a data analyst with strong attention-to-detail, a strategic mindset, and effective communication skills. This candidate must be able to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment with Wayfair growing at an unprecedented 50%+ year over year.

You will be part of the origin service team, bridging the gap between China factories/shippers and Wayfair's global ecosystem. As a data analyst, you will create unique value propositions for Wayfair's internal stakeholders, map out data along the way from shippers/factories to consolidation warehouses or origin ports, and consolidate data from internal/external sources. You will also act as a touchpoint for data management, linking up with CastleGate Forwarding network, enabling data from origin logistics to connect well with CGF other systems.

In short, the data master owns the strategy for data management, maximizing data value to profile as-is origin service performance, facilitate origin service development teams to sense shippers/factories pain points from number-based facts, and work with sister functions within CGF to plan future service development to alleviate shippers/factories pain points.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and develop the strategy for data management, focusing on origin service
  • Map out data categories required for business development
  • Build up processes to collect and consolidate data from internal/external sources
  • Clean up databases in a timely manner, maintain data quality
  • Build up reports/dashboard for WBR/MBR/QBR
  • Guide/train service partners or subcontractors on how to interchange data under CGF criteria
  • Work with sister functions, push through data interchange within CGF, maximize data value
  • Support tech roadmap building and tool development (incl. defining product requirement, logic build, user acceptance test) to drive improvements in end-to-end logistics systems, data, and processes; including light modeling to validate hypotheses and de-risk engineering and data science investments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in data analysis, statistics, supply chain/operations discipline
  • 5+ years experience in data analysis. Experience working in eCom, freight forwarding, transportation, contract logistics will bring credits
  • Strong quantitative experience, with the ability to conduct statistical analysis, generate insights and solutions or build a story and strategy from large data sets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions and communicate effectively
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work with people in a cross-functional environment
  • Email/Wechat communication in English is mandatory. Verbal English communication skill will bring candidate extra credits
  • Language communication skill in Mandarin
  • Technical requirements: Proficient level of skills in BigQuery and Google Data Studio; Python is preferred; Google AppScript/AppSheet experience will be a plus
