Job DescriptionPayroll Manager

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will lead payroll operations into a new digital environment and collaborate with the HRIS project team to implement the payroll system.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • A comprehensive understanding of payroll transfer from one system to another, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Oversight and management of pre-parallel runs, parallel runs, UAT testing, and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintenance of accurate employee records in the system and reconciliation with contracts issued for payroll processing.
  • Arrangement and processing of all payroll-related payments and deductions.
  • Response to queries related to salary, contract matters, MPF contributions, and taxation.
  • Review of salary journals and reports, ensuring accurate reconciliation of all MPF and ORSO contributions.
  • Confirmation that all payments are processed within allocated budgets and secured with necessary approvals.
  • Training, supervision, and delegation of payroll duties to team members to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Collaboration with the Data Integrity Team to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance regarding payroll issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Human Resources Management, with membership in a recognized Accounting or Human Resources professional body.
  • More than 8 years of experience in payroll administration, with team management experience in a sizable organization.
  • Familiarity with Tier One HRIS vendors, operating in both on-site and cloud environments.
  • Experience with digital transformation projects, including system configuration, implementation, UAT, and parallel runs that have successfully achieved a steady state.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement system enhancements after reaching a steady state.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Sheets.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, Hong Kong employment law (and related regulations), as well as daily average wages (DAW).
