About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Architect to join our team at Classy Wheeler Limited. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for establishing best practices and strategies in DevOps and driving the growth of our IT business in the DevOps area.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Formulate DevOps strategies, policies, and governance in Application Development.
  2. Lead the build deployment, software configuration, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release engineering process for a new platform initiative.
  3. Guide project teams on DevOps best practices including scalability and performance tuning processes.
  4. Collaborate with team leads to coordinate the release schedule and resolve any issues that impact the release and deployment of the platform.
  5. Provide pre-sales support on DevOps solutions to facilitate future growth and support business needs.
  6. Support Training & Development team on DevOps capabilities training programs.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments and optimize the DevOps methodology and process.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and managerial oversight and responsibility for the day-to-day operations of 7 x 24 Services.
  2. Have an advanced understanding of business technology drivers to provide DevOps best practices.
  3. Work closely with teams to deliver high-quality, highly available software solutions under the DevOps environment.
  4. Provide operational intelligence by deploying and maintaining solutions for logging, monitoring, alerting.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues together with the engineering teams and prevent future issues.
  6. Work shifts or be on call.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in the IT profession.
  3. Experience in DevOps, Release management, and delivery to production, Automated deployment, Continuous integration, Continuous delivery, and release engineering.
  4. Technical knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Maven, JUnit, Nagios, and other open-sourced DevOps tools.
  5. Experience in project implementation using Agile methodologies and best practices.
  6. A certificate in Agile Project Management is an added advantage.
  7. Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  8. Good leadership, analytical, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills.
  9. A positive attitude, fast-learning, energetic, and able to perform in a challenging environment.
Additional Requirements
  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related fields.
  2. 4 years of experience working on Infrastructure or Platform Support.
  3. A strong background in Linux/Unix Administration and core Internet protocols.
  4. Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS and Google is required).
  5. Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (e.g. NoSQL, Mongo, and Redis).
  6. A working understanding of code and script (e.g. PHP, Python, and Perl).
  7. Experience with resources/automation/configuration management using either Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Git, or an equivalent will be an advantage.
  8. Knowledge of best practices in operational processes, DevOps, deployment checklists, and more.
  9. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
  10. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  11. Experience with Monitoring and log analytics tools (e.g. Elastic Search, Splunk, Grafana, Graphite, InfluxDB, Cacti).
