Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of risk management frameworks and strategies to optimize risks and returns for FWD Life Insurance Corporation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Risk Management Framework Implementation: Develop and implement risk management frameworks and strategies to manage financial and insurance risks in accordance with our Risk Appetite framework and ERM Framework.
- Participate in Risk Analysis Exercises: Participate in and project lead risk analysis exercises, including ORSA preparation, and other related risk analysis by liaising with key stakeholders such as Actuarial and Finance.
- Risk Monitoring and Mitigation: Perform risk monitoring for local offices to identify key risks and lead local management to monitor and review risks, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Collect relevant information and propose/perform a range of financial analysis on business risk assessment, providing actionable advice to stakeholders.
- ERM Framework and Risk Appetite Framework: Work closely with the VP of Financial Risk Management to recommend/review the ERM Framework and Risk Appetite Framework, enhancing the comprehensive finance and insurance risk infrastructure.
- Emerging Issues and Mitigation: Proactively identify and escalate emerging issues, assessing potential mitigation actions and solutions.
- Group Risk Initiatives: Drive the coordination and advising of firm-wide or Group Risk initiatives, including Group projects, risk management tool improvement, and reporting analytics.
- Relationship Building: Establish new and strong relationships with local and Group risk functions.
- Risk Reporting and Analysis: Lead and drive the regular risk reporting/analysis for key stakeholders as required.
- Risk Culture Champion: Be a champion to foster a strong risk culture for FWD Life Insurance Corporation.
- Market Influence and Regulation: Support as a market influencer and lead industry practitioners to align industry interests for new regulations and standardization market practices.
- Insurance Risk Monitoring Matrix: Establish a process and build awareness for embedding life insurance risk control frameworks to all markets, bringing an insurance risk viewpoint to strategic planning.
- Countries ERM Framework and Risk Appetite Framework: Assist in formulating the countries ERM Framework and Risk Appetite Framework for insurance risks for Board approvals.
- Market Risk Management Systems: Provide actionable advice on current and emerging issues, giving oversight in the management of market risk management systems.
- Strategic Initiatives and Projects: Contribute towards strategic initiatives and projects related to risk appetite and risk limits development.
- Actuarial, Finance, and Compliance Partnership: Partner with actuarial, finance, and compliance to monitor the performance of insurance risk and mandates on a regular basis.
- KRI and Risk Metrics: Assist in developing/set KRI and risk metrics to monitor risk appetite and related risk limits, assessing the risk profile for both Group and BU levels.
- Insurance Risk Perspective: Advise and influence countries in local risk perspective for insurance products, transactions, designing/revamping policies, controls, and processes.
- ORSA Review: Drive the coordination and advising of ORSA review from Group perspective to the markets.
- Insurance Risk Process Implementation: Monitor and manage the company's overall exposure to insurance risk, leading countries and business lines to mitigate insurance and financial risk.
We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- University Graduate: University graduate with a Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Risk Management.
- FSA or Equivalent Qualification: FSA or near FSA or equivalent qualification.
- Related Work Experience: 6-10 years of related actuarial or risk management work experience, with exposure to valuation, product/pricing being a plus.

- Risk Management Mindset: Strong risk management mindset and overall concept of enterprise risk management.
- Risk Based Capital: Familiar with risk-based capital and its components.
- Asset Management/Bloomberg: Familiar with asset management/Bloomberg.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to details, and ability to liaise with different functions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication with strong interpersonal skills, must be a good team-player.
