Data Governance Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our client's team as the VP of Data Governance. In this newly created headcount, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data governance landscape and driving data strategies across our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive data strategies across the organization, ensuring accountability for data governance initiatives.
- Transform data governance frameworks into actionable capabilities that enable new business models while adhering to best-in-class compliance standards.
- Align expectations among data domain owners, IT, and analytics teams regarding data usage, quality, and analytical tools to foster collaboration and efficiency.
- Collaborate with data domain owners to drive the execution of the data governance framework and maintain an up-to-date data catalog.
- Lead data cleansing initiatives in partnership with data owners to enhance overall data quality across the organization.
- Maintain a data quality dashboard for stakeholders, facilitating the monitoring of data quality metrics and addressing any identified issues.
- A university degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in data or project management, preferably within the banking or finance sector.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing enterprise master data strategies, including data integration, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
- A solid understanding of data governance practices, including industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data management.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, with proficiency in Mandarin being a distinct advantage.
