Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Manager to join our team, responsible for serving as the contact point for governance, data quality, and protection issues. This role will work closely with business and function area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, support strategic data requirements, and provide guidance on data analytics projects from a data governance perspective.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain and oversee the implementation of data governance and management policies, guidelines, and controls, ensuring their effective execution and annual review.
  • Develop and roll out a bank-wide data governance framework, focusing on data quality and protection, through modifications to organizational behavior, policies, and standards.
  • Analyze compliance requirements, identify data risks and control or compliance gaps, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the Data Governance Committee in driving data governance initiatives aligned with the bank's data strategies and provide regular progress reports.
  • Participate in the Data Analytics Center of Excellence to support the execution of the bank's data strategy and management in all data-driven business initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on data projects from a data governance perspective, ensuring data security, privacy, accuracy, availability, and usability throughout the data life cycle.
  • Facilitate the definition of data domains, critical data elements, data standards, and identify data owners to promote data quality improvement.
  • Develop and implement data quality monitoring, data standards, data governance tools, and adoption requirements across the bank, defining corresponding indicators of performance.
  • Manage organizational data risks and issues, coordinating with data owners to accept or resolve them.
  • Design training and activities to promote organizational awareness and culture of data governance across people, process, and technology.
Requirements
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience in Data Governance from recognized establishments in the financial services and/or banking sector.
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring data governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of business and operation models of banking, with a thorough understanding of the local regulatory environment, preferably with experience in the GBA regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to visualize opportunities and issues from data.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL, Microsoft Tools (Power BI, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
  • Willingness to take challenges, resolve conflicts, and solve complicated problems.
  • Competence in managing and communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in Data Analytics, Python, AI/ML, Data Platform implementation is preferable.
