Theatre and Events Technician RoleWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Theatre and Events Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our theatre and event facilities, including planning, organisation and implementation of technical aspects of performances and events. This will involve collaborating with the Performing Arts team, coordinating with other departments and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organise and carry out logistical and technical activities for the HKA Theatre and the Performing Arts Department
- Collaborate creatively with the Performing Arts team for production design
- Actively contribute to the efficient running and maintenance of the Theatre in a safe and professional manner
- Provide logistical support to HKA faculty and staff for grade level, Primary & Secondary School and Whole School events and theatre rentals
The ideal candidate will have a High School qualification with working experience in professional theatre operations, performing arts, or a related field. Strong organisational and communication (verbal and written) skills are essential, as well as knowledge of safe working practices and legislation in the theatre environment. Experience of operating and maintaining stage machinery, theatre flying systems, theatre technical equipment such as lights, sound, projector and show control equipment is also desirable.
