Job Description

Societe Generale Assurances is seeking a highly skilled Trainee Credit Analyst to join our team. As a Trainee Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting credit analysis for corporate counterparts, evaluating credit limits, and making recommendations based on the bank's risk appetite and client's credit profile.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct credit analysis for corporate counterparts by preparing concise, critical, and well-argued credit proposals on new requests and renewals of credit facilities.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on credit limits requested from coverage teams and business lines based on the bank's risk appetite and client's credit profile.
  • Conduct regular and timely annual reviews and credit facility renewals.
  • Review and assess client's obligor rating at least annually, or as driven by special events, and maintain valid ratings in the Bank's rating tool.
  • Continue to improve credit file productivity and processing efficiency and respond in a timely manner to credit requests.
  • Expedite and manage the credit approval process by liaising with relevant approvers and RISQ officers.
  • Report significant business events, financial trends, industry developments, and other relevant issues relating to the financial position of clients.
  • Back up and support other credit analysts.
  • Assist in special projects or assignments as requested by the team head.
Reporting
  • Support for week deal flow generation, annual review tracking and monitoring, credit volume statistics, and portfolio analytics. Also act as a back-up support to our data analyst within CRE.
  • Assist other credit analysts to monitor credit exposure/overshoots, concentration risk, financial covenants, and credit conditions; verify data and support reporting requirements related to these areas.
Requirements
  • Comply with applicable internal credit policies, procedures, and the Bank's code of conduct.
  • Maintain a high level of personal integrity and uphold the bank's ethical standards both in professional activities and personal conduct.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university (MBA or other professional qualifications such as CFA or CPA or equivalent is preferred).
  • Previous experience in a role of financial risk analysis or assistant corporate relationship manager is a plus.
  • Solid accounting, corporate finance, and credit analysis skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with analytical thinking.
  • Good knowledge in data analytics and related fields.
  • Quick learner and ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-check.
  • Basic knowledge of different bank products, particularly commercial banking/transaction banking products, treasury products.
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory and business environment in Greater China.
  • Well-versed in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, VBA, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint is a must).
  • Good communication skills. Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese language skills (both speaking and writing) are mandatory. French language skill is a plus.

This is a fixed-term 12-month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full-time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full-time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
