Compliance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance for Cigna's general insurance operations and enterprise-wide initiatives;
  • Provide extensive support for the formulation and ongoing evaluation of relevant compliance and regulatory obligations, encompassing areas such as licensing, data privacy, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, anti-bribery, anti-fraud, outsourcing, and product compliance;
  • Collaborate closely with the Complaint Management team on issues related to customer complaints;
  • Aid in the creation of compliance policies and guidelines as necessary;
  • Offer guidance to the business on compliance issues and regulatory standards, delivering practical and clear solutions to fulfill regulatory obligations and internal policies;
  • Engage in the development of business collaborations and insurance offerings, including the assessment of business models, marketing materials, forms, and publications to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations;
  • Assist in designing and executing regular compliance evaluations, monitoring, and risk assessments;
  • Foster an ethical culture, proper business conduct, and adherence to the company’s compliance program through training initiatives for staff;
  • Coordinate and execute routine compliance reporting to regional and Home Office (U.S.) as necessary; and
  • Lead and manage special compliance projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance or financial services sector focusing on compliance;
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks pertaining to life and/or general insurance, including licensing, data privacy, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery, product compliance, and outsourcing;
  • Familiarity with principles and theories in assurance monitoring;
  • Strong business acumen and commercial insight;
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders;
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal oversight;
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and proficient in planning;
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities; and
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
