Job Title: Lead Business Analysis Strategist at Sun Life

As a pivotal figure in process enhancement and optimization for Business Testing, Project Management, and Wealth & Pensions IT, your primary role will involve assessing and proposing the most effective business workflows and Target Operating Model for significant business and IT projects within the Wealth & Pensions divisions. This position is essential in steering business transformation towards a digital-first approach by partnering with Wealth & Pensions IT to deploy optimal technological solutions that yield immediate and mid-term advantages. Furthermore, you will oversee a team of skilled business analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles to gain a thorough understanding of requirements and their implications on business sectors.
  • Identify, document, analyze, and escalate operational, financial, and technological limitations, assumptions, and risks linked to projects.
  • Collaborate with the user experience team to conceptualize new features and components.
  • Spot opportunities for enhancement and innovative methods to boost client or user satisfaction.
  • Assess information from diverse sources and provide insightful recommendations to ensure alignment with project and organizational goals.
  • Articulate ideas and perspectives to senior management across various business and technology sectors.
  • Convert business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and deliverables, including specifications and business process models.
  • Generate project documentation, encompassing requirements specifications, business process descriptions, and use cases.
  • Oversee business analysis, user engagement, and project solution delivery activities.
  • Serve as a crucial liaison between business and project management teams to achieve targeted project outcomes.
  • Engage with end-users to assess and define business processes and challenges for value creation.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • At least 10 years of experience in the insurance/pensions sector with expertise in MPF/ORSO/Trust regulations.
  • Strong understanding of the MPF market and digital initiatives, including web and mobile applications.
  • Proficient in technology, Agile methodologies, and tools/vendors in the industry.
  • Experience with Agile or DevOps methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Exceptional skills in crafting professional presentations and utilizing MS Office.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio or similar diagramming tools.

Problem Solving Skills:

  • Exhibit strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills to navigate ambiguities and summarize information effectively.
  • Possess professional consulting skills for independently addressing complex challenges.
  • Adept at fostering strong relationships at all management levels within a diverse environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, IT, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within a financial services organization.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic projects from inception to execution.
  • Positive demeanor, quick learner, and energetic with a readiness to challenge conventional methods.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication proficiency in both English and Cantonese.
  • A strong team player with a collaborative approach in a multicultural setting.
