ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has been a major supplier of trains, signalling systems, infrastructure and services (maintenance, renovation and parts supply) to MTR Corporation over the last 40 years. Since the first metro project in Hong Kong in 1975, ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has supplied over 1,100 metro cars for its metro network and equipped seven lines with signalling systems currently in operation, contributing positively to the urban transport system development in Hong Kong.

The Signalisation Expert Leader Role

We are looking for an experienced Signalisation Expert Leader based in Hong Kong to join our dynamic team. We deliver multiple signalling projects to our customer MTR with dedication to sustainable and smart mobility in the field of design, engineering, installation and test & commissioning. Your Responsibilities
  • Lead a local Signalling Design team in the delivery of projects.
  • Ensure the on-time and cost-effective delivery of all aspects of the engineering design solution.
  • Participate in the integration of design, installation and testing activities and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity.
  • Undertake work package management and be accountable for the delivery of the engineering activities in line with the allocated budget.
  • Ensure all Signalling design deliverables are in accordance with appropriate railway standards, technical constraints, health and safety legislation, Alstom company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Identify, capture and manage Signalling System requirements.
  • Support Digital and Integrated Systems business development with tendering activities ensuring the quality of estimates, system description, system architectures, implementation strategies and methodologies.
  • Provide governance and assurance to all tendering activities ensuring assumptions and execution risks are captured during the tendering process.
  • Identify operational risks, construction risks, maintenance risks and system risks within design and identify and implement suitable mitigation to minimise these risks.
  • Provide an effective mechanism for design team management with clear communication lines to safely meet project timescales and budget expectations.
  • Liaise with the Project Engineering Managers and project planners to develop and maintain accurate delivery schedules and resource forecasts.
  • Provide guidance and training for design staffs as required, including identification of external training needs.
  • Represent Alstom at external client and subcontract meetings, ensuring effective interface management with design stakeholders, integrated with all associated company, client and 3rd part project disciplines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent background.
  • 8+ year of extensive experience of signalling design with an in-depth knowledge of Signalling Systems used in Hong Kong and/or metro system developed market.
  • Able to understand and interpret electrical and electronic circuits, data sheets and specifications.
  • Experience in Circuit Book Design / Verification and Installation Design requirements.
  • Knowledge on Control Tables Design / Verification.
  • Experience of applying SACEM and SSI data preparation and validation cycle.
  • Extensive experience of RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board) Signalling standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of the application of Network Rail Standards.
  • Able to understand design and translating it into working functionalities.
  • Able to understand and implement the process defined.
  • Team manager experience with leadership and development mindset.
  • Able to understand Quality and Configuration process.
  • Shall Review CBI Application Design team KPIs and propose development plan.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Team Orientation.
  • Risk assessment requirements and application.
  • Flexible and resilience to work on multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with customers and colleagues.
About the Position

This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in signalling design. The position involves managing a team of engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of multiple projects. Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $HKD 150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including a comprehensive health insurance scheme, pension plan and generous annual leave entitlement.
