Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Manager to join our team in Hong Kong. This role will involve managing the full set of accounts accurately, preparing and maintaining financial reports, and leading year-end budget planning and monthly forecasting.



Key Responsibilities

  2. Prepare monthly closing for Sotheby's Hong Kong and Sotheby's Retail Wine, including analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Lead in year-end budget planning and monthly forecasting, working closely with the business director group and corporate functions.
  4. Liaise with Hong Kong and Global auditors for local audit and group audit.
  5. Manage Asia audit performed by the other members of the finance team.
  6. Perform commission analysis on complex deals, prepare tax packs for group reporting, and review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by senior accountants.
  7. Review and approve journals on SAP prepared by senior accountants, identify areas of improvement on current processes, and implement changes where appropriate.
  8. Participate in ad-hoc duties as requested, including additional main and mid-season auction-based duties.


Requirements

  • Degree level or equivalent in Accounting, HKICPA/ACCA/ACA qualified.
  • 7+ years of solid accounting and auditing experience, either gained through practice or industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English and Cantonese/Mandarin essential, must be able to read and write Chinese.
  • Previous experience with SAP is a plus but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good organisational skills with proven ability of meeting deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, set high demand in quality of work, effectively maintain confidentiality and preserve integrity of sensitive information/data.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and a flexible approach to a wide range of tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hours.


Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is around $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous leave entitlements.
