About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Risk Manager to join our Hong Kong team. This role involves collaborating closely with internal business groups to identify regulatory reporting and compliance issues related to Jane Street's Asian Business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory consultancy within the financial sector, preferably with exposure to electronic trading at a liquidity provider, broker, or investment bank.

This role includes:

  • Staying current with the latest regulatory changes and developments in APAC on topics such as trade surveillance, derivatives, and on-exchange and OTC trading
  • Analyzing existing and new business regulations, providing advice on their potential impact for the firm and developing clear business requirements or processes in response
  • Providing compliance-related guidance and advice to internal teams (including salespeople and traders)
  • Liaising with regulators and stakeholders to resolve ongoing compliance issues or queries
  • Developing and administering compliance training programs for internal clients
  • Assisting the Compliance Team with trading flow-related issues and tasks
  • Drafting and updating policies and procedures in line with changes to regulatory requirements

Jane Street's Legal and Compliance Group plays a critical role in the firm's business operations. This role offers an opportunity to gain exposure to the varied operations of global trading and to develop infrastructure that will support our compliance practice in the future.

About You

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory consultancy within the financial sector
  • Ability to provide rational solutions to complex risks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly and explain conclusions to colleagues across the firm
  • Proactive, self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Asian languages (such as Chinese) is a plus
