About the Role:
The Waterloo Central School District is seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional wellbeing of our students.
Salary and Benefits:
- We offer a competitive salary based on the WEA Contract of agreement, plus an extra duty stipend of $10,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students, including taking them for walks, breaks, or social skills groups/interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop behavior intervention plans for individual students.
- Participate in MTSS meetings when requested and contribute to the development of a tracking log to document students receiving support.
- Assist staff in managing student behavior and establish a safe and supportive environment in the Behavior Intervention Center.
Requirements:
- NYS Teaching Assistant III Certification
- Minimum 5-years' experience as a Teaching Assistant
- TCIS training in physical restraint or willingness to be trained
- Previous experience with restorative practices preferred
