At HSBC, we're looking for a high-calibre professional to join our Global Finance team as a Senior Manager Stress Testing Strategy and Transformation. This role is a regional position within the Strategic Planning and Stress Testing (SPST) team, situated within the Asia Pacific Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the ASP head of Scenario Analysis and collaborate with stress testing leads across the region and group, as well as senior management to define the strategy, establish standards, and drive the necessary transformation to ensure the delivery of high-quality stress testing outcomes that meet regulatory requirements and support commercial, capital, and strategic decision making.
  2. Drive a consistent standard in methodology and execution across all scenario analysis and stress testing deliverables, including regulatory stress tests, internal stress tests, climate scenario analysis, earnings volatility, what if analysis, Valuation in Resolution (ViR), and reverse stress test.
  3. Accountability for continuously enhancing the stress testing framework to align with industry best practices and meet internal and external expectations.
  4. Accountable for managing stress testing-related regulatory inquiries, including BCBS and HKMA IC5 self-assessments, and defining and maintaining effective controls to measure and manage process risks within ASP scenario analysis team.

Requirements

  1. A strong understanding of stress testing and planning process and their role in the management of the bank and in regulatory relationships.
  2. A good understanding of the bank's capital and liquidity management processes.
  3. Desirable experience in integrating process in a Financial Planning and Analysis and Stress Testing context.
  4. Prior experience of working with offshore/satellite teams is desirable.
  5. A proven ability to develop and use quantitative analysis to generate results.
  6. Exceptional drive and commitment; ability to work and thrive in a fast changing, results driven environment; and proven ability in handling competing priorities.
  7. Sound judgment, decision making and problem solving abilities.
  8. Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  9. Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning and organisation skills; able to communicate with creditability and clarity with senior management.
  10. An inquisitive mind who is not afraid to challenge the status quo, continuously look at ways to improve processes.
  11. Ability to highlight problems but more importantly offer innovative and practical solutions, and drive through their execution in a collective environment and in a timely manner.
