As an Exhibition Conservation Expert at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to showcasing the world's most exquisite artefacts. Your expertise in conservation and scientific research will be invaluable in ensuring the integrity of our exhibitions and collections.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for conducting research, contributing to the field of conservation, and advising on climate control, packing materials and methods, display duration and methods, mount-making, framing and matting, and issues related to display cases.
Key Responsibilities- Conservation Work: Perform conservation work, including examination, conservation assessment, research, treatment, and documentation of objects.
- Exhibition Preparation: Prepare objects for exhibition, ensuring gallery and storage environment is well maintained.
- Research and Collaboration: Conduct research, collaborate with relevant teams, and develop guidelines, policies, standards, and procedures for the conservation and care of the museum's collections.
- Education: A master's degree in conservation or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least 5 years of verifiable museum conservation experience, with a strong background in object conservation and exhibition preparation.
- Skills: Excellent knowledge of conservation techniques, materials, and equipment, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.
