Job Summary
We are seeking a high-caliber professional to join our team as an Assistant Data Manager. The successful candidate will support the department in driving data strategy to ensure data is managed and controlled, data becomes a key asset to the bank, the bank moves to a data-driven organization, and regulatory demands on data are satisfied.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare regulatory reports and review data project initiatives to ensure compliance with internal data policies and external regulations.
- Work closely with project managers, data control teams, business teams, risk, and finance teams to ensure the governance process is followed properly.
- Support and oversee data management activities of business, risk, and finance teams.
- Manage regulatory data programs, including defining data program strategy, tracking program status, overseeing data process owners, liaising with stakeholders, and supporting regulator engagement.
- Support and handle data control activities, including data governance management, data control, and quality review, data and process identification.
- Provide updates and escalation to the Governance Forum.
Requirements
- Background in portfolio reporting, data governance, data management, data control, and regulatory engagement.
- 2-3 years of experience in portfolio reporting, data management, business analysis, risk management.
- Fair understanding of regulatory reporting, data governance, and management principles.
- Attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements, data governance, and management trends within the banking industry.
- Strong presentation skills to facilitate steering committee and good stakeholder management.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to work independently with less supervision.
- University degree in related disciplines.
- Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
