Role Overview

The Security Management System Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Aviation Security Management System and the Aviation Security Programme on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of the Aviation Security Operations Manual (AOSP) and related documentation by proposing and drafting necessary amendments.
  • Create security communications and advisories for personnel to address both internal and external security matters.
  • Engage in investigations related to incidents, accidents, or irregularities that may impact operational security.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and surveys, generating reports to confirm that operational security standards are met.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive measures concerning identified security deficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain the curriculum and syllabus for the Security Training Programme.
  • Provide Security Training as required.
  • Perform Risk Analysis and Threat Assessments, producing reports to ensure operational security is upheld.
  • Coordinate special security protocols during heightened threat levels.
  • Oversee the internal security vetting process.
  • Facilitate the Airline Safety Review Group, Security Action Group, and conduct Security Exercises and Drills.
  • Participate in the IOSA programme and contribute to projects as directed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Tertiary education in security, aviation, or a related business field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation or relevant security roles, including at least one year in a supervisory, training, or audit capacity.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English; knowledge of Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is advantageous.
