Job Description

Raw Materials Sourcing and Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Technologist to join our team at Victoria's Secret. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for sourcing and developing raw materials that meet our high standards of quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and allocating suppliers to meet our raw material needs
  • Leading the sourcing and development work to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials
  • Reviewing and validating information on specifications, prices, and lead times to ensure workable options
  • Reengineering and duplicating raw materials as needed
  • Updating our systems, including FlexPLM and Centric

Raw Material Approval, QA, and Risk Assessment

You will be responsible for kick-starting fabric QA and preliminary risk assessment work, including mold trials and bonding. You will also build quality guidelines and meet QA deadlines, define and follow up on high-risk materials, and validate new fabric process routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kick-starting fabric QA and preliminary risk assessment work

  • Validating new fabric process routes
  • Reviewing information accuracy and assessing risk assessment results
  • Monitoring supplier performance
  • Updating our systems, including FlexPLM

Color Approval Work

You will be responsible for color approval development work, including lab dips and strike-offs, as well as color approval production work, including solid and print bulk. You will also conduct on-site approvals and maintain color approval systems.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 4+ years of experience in a technical position within a factory environment with production responsibilities
  • Prior experience working in graphic printers, laundry, dyeing houses, or garment factories is essential
  • Solid knowledge of knit fabrics, especially single jersey, fleece, and terry
  • Ability to present issues and solutions to peers, management, and customers
  • Willingness to travel
  • Closely working with chemical and machinery suppliers
  • Results-oriented and able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with excellent communication skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English
