The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of Security Control Room Officers, assisting in the monitoring and operating of all security systems to ensure the safety and protection of the public, guests, visitors, employees, contractors (stakeholders) and assets throughout the Kai Tak Sports Park, including day to day and for events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the deputy of the Shift Commander (Security), monitoring all security related issues at all times.
  • Ensure the Security Systems such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, fire alarms, and other surveillance equipment are closely monitored by the security control room officer.
  • Arrange the Precinct to be closely monitored by multiple screens or displays, and utilize the Video Analytic System to assist in detecting potential security breaches, suspicious activities, or emergencies.
  • In the event of an alarm activation, unauthorized access attempt, or any other security incident, monitor the immediate response being taken, and follow up with the subsequent course of action specified in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Upon receiving immediate information from the control room officer, determine the severity of the perceived threat and report to the Shift Commander (Security) for instructions.
  • Ensure the control room officer handles all radio / telephone communication efficiently with on-site security personnel, providing real-time information, instructions, and reports to the Shift Commander (Security) regarding updates on security incidents.
  • Maintain detailed records of all security-related activities. Ensure all incident details, responses, and any other relevant information are properly recorded in the Incident Management System / Physical Security Information System / Central Control and Monitoring System.
  • Ensure that security control room operators physically check all security control room equipment and systems are functioning correctly at the beginning of the shift, and report any technical issues, malfunctions, or faults promptly to the Control Room Supervisor.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Shift Commander (Security).

Requirements

  • Form 5 or above education level, holder of security-related fields is preferred.
  • Holder of valid security personnel license and QAS certificate.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of working experience in security or law enforcement with at least two (2) years at managerial level. Prior experience in security operations or control room monitoring is required.
  • Experience in using security systems, CCTV monitoring, or emergency response procedures can be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Fire Fighting System, Security System, and computer knowledge are preferred.
  • Solid concept of frontline security course of action, venue security, crowd/traffic management/control, and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Prior experience and network with local officials and agents of law enforcement preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Chinese (Cantonese) with good communication ability is often required.
  • Work in shift hours is required.
