Optical Frame Engineer — Europe eyewear manufacturer (Hong Kong) The Optical Frame Engineer will play a key role in driving product integrity from concept to mass production. This is a highly collaborative and technical position involving coordination across design, production, and quality teams. Position Mission Based in our Hong Kong office and reporting to the Quality Manager, the Optical Frame Engineer will drive product integrity from concept to mass production. This is a highly collaborative and technical position involving coordination across design, production, and quality teams. Key Responsibilities Provide end-to-end engineering support for optical frame development, from design feasibility to final manufacturing handoff Regularly communicate with manufacturing partners in China and Southeast Asia to align on processes and improvements Monitor product quality and assist in developing improvement plans to ensure consistent standards across all production batches Review and validate technical drawings and 3D models to ensure compliance with product specifications, ergonomics, and production capabilities Troubleshoot technical challenges during sampling and mass production, identifying root causes and delivering practical solutions Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, merchandising, product development, and factory technicians Support tooling validation, prototype testing, material selection, and process optimization Ideal Candidates Tertiary education in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering or a related discipline Minimum 5 years’ experience in optical frame manufacturing or similar precision-engineered consumer goods Solid understanding of materials (especially acetate, stainless steel, titanium) and manufacturing processes (injection molding, die-casting, surface treatments) Proficient in reading technical drawings and using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) Hands-on, detail-minded and solution-driven personality with good communication and interpersonal skills Fluent in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin Willingness to travel to production sites in Mainland China and SE Asia as needed Why Join Us You’ll be part of an international, design-forward company where innovation, craftsmanship, and quality come together.
