For more information about the University, please visit We Are Now Looking For a Suitable Person To Fill The Following Position In The School Of Arts And Social Sciences Temporary Research Assistant I/II (R6675) (A&SS) - (25002BV) Job: Temporary/Part‑time R&D School/Unit: School of Arts and Social Sciences Closing Date: 01/Dec/2025, 3:59:00 PM Major Duties and Responsibilities Supporting the team in conducting literature reviews related to sound studies, music archaeology, and immersive audio research; Collecting and organizing data, including field recordings, archival materials, and audio documentation for analysis; Assisting the Principal Investigator/supervisors in the preparation, coordination, and execution of research studies and artistic experiments; Participating in the design, implementation, and documentation of sound‑based research and artistic outputs; Assisting in the planning and organization of related workshops, symposia, and performances; Preparing materials for publications, exhibitions, and other research outcome deliverables; Undertaking other ad‑hoc research and administrative activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator. Candidates Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications, Experience And Competence A Master’s degree or above in music, sound art, creative media any related discipline (for Temporary Research Assistant I); A Bachelor’s degree in music technology, sound design, media art, or related discipline (for Temporary Research Assistant II); Strong ability and knowledge in music composition, sound design, spatial audio, or audio programming; Preferred understanding of acoustic ecology, sound archaeology, and art‑technology integration; Candidates who have the intention to pursue a research postgraduate degree are preferred; Proven record in academic paper publication or presentation at conferences and/or journals in the field of music, sound, or media art; Experience in digital audio workstations (e.g. Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Reaper, Max/MSP) or sound analysis tools; Experience with web‑based or interactive media tools (e.g. TouchDesigner, Unity, HTML/JavaScript) is an advantage; Strong organisational and planning skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, document editing, etc.); Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently under tight deadlines; Professional communication skills for handling correspondence, coordination, and documentation; Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
