Our client is a well‑known investment bank on the sell‑side, holding a full SFC license (Types 1, 2, 4, 6, 9). They are recruiting an AVP Legal to support the International Banking Division (IBD). The role reports to a foreign manager and requires fluency in English and Mandarin. Budget: HK$80,000 – 90,000 per month. Responsibilities Provide legal advice and assistance to management and the Group’s operational departments on corporate finance, capital markets, principal investments and structured finance matters. Assist with corporate structuring involving both Hong Kong SAR and Mainland PRC laws and regulations. Conduct a wide range of commercial legal groundwork, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating transactional documentation and various commercial proposals, agreements and due diligence. Draft correspondences with regulatory bodies, auditors, counterparties and others as needed. Liaise and coordinate with the Mainland PRC parent legal function to ensure consistency and compliance with procedural/approval frameworks, and prepare reports and summary contract terms for approval. Work with external counsel on transactional, contentious or more complex legal matters, particularly PRC‑related disputes. Participate in incidental activities such as training, procedure/precedent/checklist development, etc. Qualifications Hong Kong qualified lawyer. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in corporate, corporate finance, capital markets, banking and finance, and general practice/commercial. Experience with state‑owned enterprises (SOEs) viewed favorably. Working knowledge of company and securities laws and regulations. Working knowledge of PRC laws and regulations viewed favorably. Strong command of written and spoken English and Cantonese. Native‑level Mandarin speaker.
