Head of Investment Operations (VP/Director) Experience & Location 15+ Years Hong Kong Overview Our client is a major asset management firm running over 250 strategies globally across all asset classes. There is an opportunity to join the Asia leadership team as they plan for succession. Location & Leadership Located in Hong Kong, you will lead the investment operations team providing support to institutional investors and mutual fund clients as part of a global ‘follow the sun’ strategy. With a ‘hands on’ approach, you will act as a point of escalation to resolve complex and time sensitive operational issues as well as deepening the relationships with the brokers and custodian banks, identifying opportunities and partner with these firms to enhance and align global operational needs. External & Internal Representation As the most senior operations person in Asia, you will also represent operations externally to clients and prospects as well as internally to portfolio management and trading. Critically you will work closely with the relationship management group on new and complex account structures as well as trading and fixed income investors to understand the unique needs for each and structure direct operational support, as the firm transitions them to Asia. Qualifications Minimum 15 years financial services operations experience from a buy-side firm, custodian bank or broker/dealer. Strong working knowledge of operational processes and systems for equities and fixed income with derivative instruments preferred. Ability to think and work independently, lead a team and interact effectively across a global team of colleagues. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral presentation skills in English are essential and one other Asian language preferred.
