Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer the national curriculum together with life readiness skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access the national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism. The team at Pathlight School Secondary School is responsible for the holistic development of our students and preparing them for a smooth transition to post-secondary school pathways. Subjects Hiring English Mathematics Science Art Design & Technology (D&T) Humanities Computer Applications (CPA) Physical Education (PE) Impact and Contribution Curriculum and Instructional Excellence Plan engaging and well‑paced lessons taking account of the diverse learner profiles of students. Deliver lessons using evidence‑based pedagogy and meaningful activities to meet the educational needs of individual students. Implement appropriate modes of assessment to monitor student progress by providing accurate feedback and implementing suitable instructional support to close gaps. Build a strong relationship with students by demonstrating care, concern and encouragement. Formulate data‑based student‑centric IEP/ITP processes for all students, and support their attainment of IEP/ITP goals through appropriate strategies implemented in partnership with families, caregivers, Allied Professionals and other relevant stakeholders. Implement appropriate methods and tools to better support ongoing, suitable, student development, e.g. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods, adaptive/assistive learning devices or learning technology. Design and implement positive, robust classroom routines and practices to create and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment as well as foster student development and well‑being. Implement techniques and behaviour plans to manage students with complex and challenging behaviours. Manage emergency situations to resolve any immediate safety concerns and implement required school processes. Proactively engage in professional development for knowledge and skills development. Participate in professional learning teams to foster collaborative learning between staff members. Projects, Programmes and Initiatives Assist in a CCA to enhance students’ learning experiences. Participate as a committee member to support various school initiatives and/or events. Partnerships and Stakeholder Management Maintain direct communications with external stakeholders (e.g. families, caregivers, community partners and commercial partners) to support students and/or school initiatives. Work in partnership with families to support student learning and transition planning to achieve positive post‑school outcomes. Organisation Management and Development Manage daily administrative tasks (e.g. track attendance, collect forms, update families/caregivers). Requirements Minimum Diploma or GCE 'A' Levels. No prior experience required — training will be provided. Candidates with teaching qualifications from NIE e.g. Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Diploma in Special Education (DISE) or its equivalent will be considered as Trained Educator. Passion to help special needs students maximise their talents and potential. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong critical‑thinking and creativity to develop learning strategies. Good instructional skills to explain concepts clearly. Pathlight School follows MOE mainstream curriculum leading to GCE ‘N’ and ‘O’ Levels qualification.
