Add expected salary to your profile for insights Job Description Reporting to S.A, the successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not exclusive to, fabric/materials sourcing and purchase for sample development, managing daily workflow for the sample room, and delivering the sample according to the requested schedule. In addition, you will be responsible to assist with the costing process, pre‑production samples, manage style records and raw material inventory on Zedonk, cover up team members’ duties and assist office admin duties. The role interacts with everyone at Catherine Deane to aid their needs on samples and material and also be proactive in collaborating with the team to adapt. Responsibilities Source new fabric suppliers and assess quality as and when needed (keep in mind price negotiation and quality issues that might arise during the sample yardage development stage). Cost‑effective material and accessories sourcing for samples. Travelling to China/Hong Kong fabric market when needed. Travelling to Shenzhen factory to follow up on select samples made there. Communicate between the design team and sample sewer to deliver samples with accuracy and excellent quality. Advise on garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric consumption, efficiency and cost saving. Issue sample material purchase orders and follow up closely with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery. Manage sample material stock in the HK office and make a catalogue for easy access. Prepare sampling spec sheets according to the tech packs to support sample making. Oversee the sample room workflow to complete and send samples according to the requested schedule. Update the costing details and work closely with the design team/UK team to achieve an effective cost and ideal price. Managing bulk pieces assigned to sample room. Follow through pre‑production samples. Ensure the correct style fabric/material info on Fabric combo sheets and in the ZEDONK system. Manage the monthly raw material inventory data in the Zedonk system. Create embroidery and beading artwork for the factory to follow. Any ad hoc job. Cover up team members’ duties while they are on leave. Arrange office supplies and other admin work for sample room ladies. Skills and Experience Has at least 6 years of experience in Product Development & Merchandising of Bridal or Ladies Woven High Fashion. Confident in setting up new processes to improve planning and efficiency. Well organized, dynamic and able to work independently. A strong team player who is self‑motivated and confident communicating internationally. Must be flexible and adaptable and willing to support teams across the business. Fluent in English—communication with overseas offices, in verbal and written will be essential. Proficient Mandarin and Cantonese in verbal and in written. Experience in hand stitching will be highly beneficial. Knowledge of Zedonk ERP. Skilled in Microsoft Excel/Word/PPT.
