Job Description - Shipping Manager Join a well‑established Hong Kong‑based trading company with over 50 years of international success. We specialize in a diverse range of consumer products—including sundries, toys, kitchenware, fashion accessories, and premium gifts—serving major markets across South Africa and Europe. We are seeking a seasoned Shipping Manager to lead and elevate our logistics operations in a dynamic, global environment. Position Overview As Shipping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our supply chain strategy. Your mission is to optimize shipping operations, strengthen supplier relationships, and enhance overall logistics performance to meet global customer demands and support business growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and streamline end‑to‑end logistics processes to improve speed, cost‑efficiency, and service quality. Oversee shipping compliance and coordinate with internal departments and external partners. Negotiate competitive shipping terms and maintain strong supplier relationships. Manage shipping schedules to ensure timely and reliable delivery. Analyze logistics performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Supervise and mentor a team of 8 shipping professionals based in Hong Kong. Champion operational excellence and foster a high‑performance team culture. Ideal Candidates Tertiary education. Studies in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is a plus. Proficient in Chinese, Mandarin, and English. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Minimum 10 years of managerial experience in international shipping or logistics. Familiarity with the South African market is a plus. Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements.
