Senior Firewall & Load Balancer Administrator Our client is one of the local banks. They are looking for a talented candidate as Senior Firewall & Load Balancer Administrator with good firewall and load balancer experiences in particular for Palo Alto, Checkpoint, F5 BIG-IP support to take responsibility for daily firewall administration, load balancer management, patching and hardware/software versions upgrade, system monitoring/capacity planning, disaster recovery planning/testing with standard governance and reporting practices tightly followed for all areas and audit purposes. Key Responsibilities Firewall Administration Manage and maintain enterprise firewalls (preferably with Checkpoint, F5 and Palo Alto) across data centers, offices, and branches. Implement and enforce network security policies, access control lists (ACLs), and VPN configurations. Monitor firewall logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential threats. Support secure and reliable connectivity between Hong Kong and Mainland China branches. Load Balancer Management Administer load balancing platforms and configure/optimize load balancing rules to ensure high availability and performance of critical applications. Troubleshoot application delivery issues and coordinate with application and infrastructure teams. System Monitoring and Capacity Planning Configure and support SNMP messaging for system monitoring integration. Monitor system performance and resource usage to support proactive planning. Provide annual capacity planning reports covering system utilization and growth forecasts. Patch and Upgrade Perform firmware and software upgrades and patch management to address end‑of‑support and security vulnerabilities. Upgrade any legacy End‑of‑Support (EOS) hardware and software components to ensure continued vendor support and system reliability. Governance & Reporting Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews. Conduct System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and user account reviews on a semi‑annual basis. Ensure compliance with cross‑border data transmission regulations and internal security standards. Disaster Recovery & Resilience Setup and maintain configuration backup to ensure recoverability. Prepare and maintain system disaster recovery (DR) failover procedures. Activate and support DR systems during annual DR drills. Incident & Problem Management Act as first‑line response for firewall and load balancer‑related incident resolution efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective actions. Project & Change Management Coordinate in infrastructure projects involving firewall and load balancer deployments or upgrades. Liaise with vendors for procurement, installation, support of relevant hardware and software. Requirements Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in firewall administration, load balancer management, and infrastructure operations. Hands‑on experience with Palo Alto, Checkpoint, F5 BIG‑IP , VPNs, ACLs, and FireMon for firewall policy management. Strong knowledge of patching, system upgrades, capacity planning, and disaster recovery. Familiar with audit support, compliance standards, and cross‑border data regulations. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Prior experience working in the banking industry is preferred.
