Friends of the Earth (HK) was established in 1983 as a charitable organization; it is one of Hong Kong's most prominent green groups and is a leading environmental advocate for a sustainable future. Key Responsibilities Architect multi‑year strategic roadmaps with phased objectives. Turn emerging opportunities (such as climate policy & ESG investing) into actionable programs. Align budgets, team abilities, and technology to priority goals. Hold strategy reviews to adjust plans based on real‑world changes. Cultivate a reputation for excellence and credibility, transforming the organization into a go‑to resource for the government, media, and multilateral institutions. Cultivate and leverage relationships with public sector agencies, private corporations, and policymakers to advance organizational goals. Forge multi‑stakeholder collaborations to amplify program reach and influence. Develop a rolling financial model with clear capital allocation frameworks. Design annual project portfolios with defined KPIs, resource maps, and accountability matrices. Optimize organizational efficiency to maximize resource impact. Empower teams to exceed targets through agile processes and a culture of accountability. Spearhead creative environmental solutions from concept to scale, ensuring measurable ecological/social impact. Pilot initiatives addressing emerging sustainability challenges with measurable impact. Enhance organizational publicity through strategic social media campaigns. Grow online communities to boost visibility and stakeholder engagement. Reposition organizational mission for contemporary relevance and public resonance. Build cohesive narrative across all channels to strengthen market differentiation. Secure diverse funding streams (corporate partnerships, major donors & research grants, etc.) to sustain and expand programmes. Champion compelling narratives to attract investment in the NGO’s mission. Engage the Board with data‑driven insights and strategic recommendations. Foster transparency and alignment across all staff levels, bridging strategic vision and frontline execution. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Environmental Studies, or related disciplines. Advanced qualifications such as an MBA, Master’s in Management, or equivalent will be considered an advantage. Significant senior management experience in any sector, with a proven ability to lead organizations in transition and growth. NGO experience is an advantage but not a must requirement. Candidates with backgrounds in public and private sector are also welcome to apply. Demonstrated success in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing operations, and achieving measurable outcomes. A strong track record of leading diverse teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Exceptional communication skills to articulate vision, strategy, and objectives to stakeholders, both internally and externally. A passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to the mission of Friends of the Earth. Proficiency in operations management, with experience streamlining workflows, implementing best practices, and driving efficiency across departments. Financial acumen with the ability to oversee budgets, fundraising efforts, and resource allocation to ensure organizational sustainability. A demonstrated ability to develop and execute transformative strategies that enhance organizational impact and ensure long‑term growth. Experience representing organizations at high‑profile events and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, corporations, and donors.
