The Finance Assistant will report into Hong Kong Finance Manager. The Hong Kong Finance team will assist with the Hong Kong office billing, credit control, cashiering, purchase ledger and expenses. They need to ensure compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts rules and will work closely with and be supported by the finance team in London. Key Responsibilities Assist with engrossing proformas in Elite 3E and all other billing related processing. Liaise with e-billing team for e-billing submissions. Answer any billing queries throughout the month, write offs, transfer requests, invoice re-issues etc. Cashiering Monitor movements in the Hong Kong bank accounts on a daily basis. Post all bank transactions in Elite 3E. Review and process disbursement and suppliers invoices in Chrome River. Set up payments in bank. Handle petty cash. Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet items. New payee set up and maintenance in Elite 3E. Respond to any third-party vendor and foreign lawyer queries regarding the status of their invoices. Review and process Partner and Staff expense claims in Chrome River. Credit Control Produce monthly statements to send to clients detailing outstanding invoices. Respond to any invoice queries. About you We are looking for someone who is passionate about being a team player, who is keen to support others. The successful candidate will have some experience of accounting including billing, cashiering or purchase ledger gained within a law firm or other professional services environment and must be able to demonstrate: Good written and spoken English skills. Numerate with excellent attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy. Good technical skills including Excel and experience of practice management systems, preferably Elite 3E. Good ability to manage your own time, organise your workload and deal with queries efficiently and promptly. Good ability to work with the rest of the team, supporting others as required. Ability to liaise with members of the wider Finance department to resolve queries and other matters that arise. Flexible nature and willingness to take on additional duties, as and when required.
