Data Center Infrastructure Engineer

Overview Data Center Infrastructure Engineer, Data Center Operations at Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure including data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. Key responsibilities Office hours duty in data center operations Capacity landing and decommissioning according to process guidelines Run rack-to-rack cabling including fiber and copper per Amazon standards Rack cabling coordination and quality control Suggest improvements from day-to-day operations to improve efficiency Maintain proper media operations according to process guidelines Site management and tidiness in operation areas Assist hardware break-fix and troubleshooting according to process guidelines A day in the life Take ownership of technical issues, collaborating cross-team to drive resolution Strive for operations excellence and propose improvement ideas Use ticket system to prioritize and track installations, diagnosis, and hardware or network issues Maintain service level agreements through rapid response to emergencies Qualifications Basic 1+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair Bachelor\'s degree in IT, computer science or equivalent Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment Preferred 1+ years of data center experience Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies Experience summarizing and communicating important data Why AWS AWS is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.
