Job Title: Part-Time Legal Caseworker

With sport as the springboard and education as the foundation, we work towards a resilient and empowered refugee community in Hong Kong and beyond.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate legal appointments including:
    • Accompany participants to CIC if necessary
    • Accompany participants to attend court hearings if necessary
  • Liaise with other organisations or lawyers for support with non-refoulement claims.
  • Coordinate interviews with IRCC and support interview practices.
  • Meet with individual participants to get required information and documents for their resettlement applications.
  • Communicate with caseworks, lawyers and sponsors in support of Private Sponsorship applications.
  • Communicate with participants for their case updates, including non-refoulement claims and resettlement applications.

Part Time: three days per week

Remuneration: Hourly rate to be agreed based on skill level

Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office Suites and technology in general
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals preferred
  • Experience in the NGO sector preferred but not essential
  • Able to show initiative and a high attention to detail
  • Strong team player and collaborator
  • Sensitive to psychological and social difficulties for people's emotions
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment
  • Must have right to work in Hong Kong
