Job Title: Part-Time Legal Caseworker

With sport as the springboard and education as the foundation, we work towards a resilient and empowered refugee community in Hong Kong and beyond.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate legal appointments including:
  • Accompany participants to CIC if necessary
  • Accompany participants to attend court hearings if necessary
Liaise with other organisations or lawyers for support with non-refoulement claims.Coordinate interviews with IRCC and support interview practices.Meet with individual participants to get required information and documents for their resettlement applications.Communicate with caseworks, lawyers and sponsors in support of Private Sponsorship applications.Communicate with participants for their case updates, including non-refoulement claims and resettlement applications.

Part Time: three days per week

Remuneration: Hourly rate to be agreed based on skill level

Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office Suites and technology in general
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals preferred
  • Experience in the NGO sector preferred but not essential
  • Able to show initiative and a high attention to detail
  • Strong team player and collaborator
  • Sensitive to psychological and social difficulties for people's emotions
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment
  • Must have right to work in Hong Kong
