VP/ED, Trade Finance Product Specialist, Inbound 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Talent & Culture, Asia Corporate & Investment Banking at BBVA Job Purpose & Objectives Responsible for spearheading marketing efforts and initiating commercial activities related to trade finance and transaction banking business in Asia with subsidiaries of multinational groups, with the ultimate goals of increasing revenues, enhancing profitability, and maximizing the volume of Trade Finance and Transactional assets in the region. The new position is aimed at strengthening and structuring its strong development, taking advantage of the strong offer and expertise of BBVA in GTB products, with a special focus on the subsidiaries of multinational groups in Asia. Key Responsibilities Originate, structure and execute trade finance transactions, offering to BBVA clients a wide range of standard trade finance instruments and customized solutions to cover clients’ import/export financing needs. Collaborate with the Head of GTB Asia together with GTB country responsible in defining the business strategy, business plan and budget. Identify and generate new trade finance business opportunities with current and prospect subsidiaries of multinational groups. Identify and onboard Asian subsidiaries of multinational groups which are client of BBVA’s foreign network. Visit and call existing and prospect MNC clients proactively, occasionally accompanied by the Banker, offering them all the range of GTB products offered by BBVA. Offer a comprehensive financial and technical advisory service adapted to the client’s financial profile and trade finance needs. Conduct the analysis of the operation, defining the funding structure proposal. Negotiate credit agreements with clients, other financial institutions and legal advisors. Define and negotiate the contract’s terms and conditions in collaboration with Legal. Obtain the Risk approval. Register the proposal in the risk management tool and participate in different committees in order to defend the credit proposals. Preparation and supervision of all documentation required for the deals closing and administration. Close collaboration with the middle and back office units, especially with the local middle office teams for the guarantees administration and incidences management. Generate recurrent income in order to meet the revenue targets that are set each year. Liaise alongside with CIB product units for fostering products’ cross-selling and with CIB support units for the deal execution. Register, modify and update customers’ business opportunities in the in-house client management tools and data sources. Stay abreast of the specific regulatory and compliance framework that may affect the trade finance products. Report to the Head of GTB Asia on a periodic and ad-hoc basis. Evaluate main performance indicators. Qualification & Experience A master degree in business, finance or related field. At least 8-10 years solid experience in business development with a strong focus in the trade finance/transactional banking products. Strong connection in the banking industry with strong GTB focus preferably with large corporates and multinational companies. Strong knowledge of the Trade Finance and WC products (guarantees, SBLCs, documentary credits, factoring, SCF…) Interest and appetite for prospection with the objective of gaining new clients. Knowledge of the market and good understanding of the economy and of the needs of the clients. Strong knowledge and proven commercial experience with Multinational clients. Highly results driven. With trade finance experience in other Asian countries is an advantage. A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to work under pressure. Able to work in a matrix reporting structure, multi-functional and cross-cultural environment. Excellent communications skills with fluency in English, ability to speak Spanish would be advantageous but not required. Knowledge in ESG/green product structuring is a plus.
