Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) Department / Section : Aviation and Maritime Education Centre Major Duties: To assist in workshops / laboratories equipment installation / maintenance, and training session preparation; To assist the lecturers during laboratory / practical classes; To assist in trouble shooting, acquisition and installation of all equipment, hardware and software; To assist in the implementation of safety measures in laboratories and maintaining the tidiness of the workshops / laboratories; To assist in the procurement and inventory control of relevant stores and equipment; and To provide technical support for teaching activities, as well as special projects, events and exhibitions. Requirements: A recognised diploma or higher certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or other relevant disciplines; At least 2 years of relevant experience in Aircraft Maintenance / Marine Engineering or related fields; Basic knowledge of IT equipment (Windows PC), audio-visual (AV) trouble‑shooting skills, and proficiency in MS Office are preferred; Good communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Chinese; and Candidates with hands‑on experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: Aircraft Maintenance; Painting and Coating skills for aircraft; Composite Material repair for aircraft components; Sheet Metal repair for aircraft components; Marine Engine Maintenance; and IT equipment (Windows PC) setup and maintenance. Notes: Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a trade test. The work location is in IVE (Tsing Yi).
